Post Title: Deputy Headteacher (2 posts)
Start Date: 1st September 2018

The Governors wish to appoint two Deputy Headteachers for September 2018, to join the School’s Leadership Team at this 11-16 co-educational Community School. The salary for these posts is £58,389 – £63,779 per annum.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a range of leadership skills, experience of managing whole school developments, proven classroom ability. One post will be leading on the development and quality assurance of Teaching & Learning and the other post will be the leading of Curriculum & Assessment. Both posts will of course have additional responsibilities in line with the level of senior leadership. The major pre-requisites for the post are drive, determination and enthusiasm. They will be joining a leadership team determined to deliver excellence in all aspects of our work.

Tottington High School is an 11-16 comprehensive school with a roll of just over 900 students and total of 80+ staff. It is located on the north side of Bury in the village of Tottington, with easy access to motorways. The last Ofsted inspection was in November 2015 and we were graded as ‘Good’. We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic and committed teachers of Science with drive and ambition to work in this successful faculty. We currently offer Edexcel Combined and Triple Science at GCSE. You will be expected to teach Science at Key Stage 3 & 4.  Particular strengths required lie in Physics or Chemistry. The posts are suitable for NQTs and/or experienced teachers.

The salary for these posts is Teachers’ Pay Range £22,917 to £38,633 per annum.

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Geography (40%) for two days per week, most likely Thursdays and Fridays, to job-share a post with an existing colleague. Post Title: Science Technician
Start Date: 16th April 2018

We are seeking to appoint a Science Technician to join our school when our current colleague retires at Easter. The salary for this post will be £15,792 -£17,600 per annum.

Your hours of work will be 37 per week (8am to 4pm) term time plus 5 days, subject to service requirements.

You must be able to address the essential requirements of the Person Specification. Previous experience of working in a school science lab is beneficial but not essential. We are able to train the right individual to better equip them for the post, although a certain degree of scientific knowledge of chemicals and substances is essential. Other duties in line with salary grade will also be covered of a general nature in other parts of the school on occasion, e.g. assisting with displays etc.
