This week’s House Event was Benchball and was a great opportunity for students and staff to show off their throwing, catching and passing skills. A bit like a team game of Piggy-In-The-Middle, Benchball is one of our favourite House events because it gets lots of players involved and is thrilling for participants and spectators alike.
The Sports Hall was the venue and the atmosphere was electric with loads of really keen players, coaches and spectators (many of whom will get the chance to take part next time). Houses battled against each other in the playoffs, and tensions were high throughout, but there could sadly be only one winner—well done to WOODBURY HOUSE!! (pictured above)
1st Woodbury House
2nd Redgrave House
3rd Johnson House
Crossbar challenge was a new event for this year and was well supported by students and staff on both days.
Woodbury 1st (30 points)
Johnson 2nd (20 points)
Redgrave 3rd (10 points)
So the first House event of 2017-18 has taken place and congratulations go to Woodbury House as they finished in 1st place in the Shoot The Hoop basketball competition and win 30 points. In 2nd place with 20 points was Redgrave, and in 3rd place was Johnson with 10 points.
There’s a long way to go and lots to play for. So stay tuned for info about the next House event.
