Fantastic Festive Fundraising Fun Day

Fantastic Festive Fundraising Fun Day

A massive thank you to all students and staff involved in this year’s Christmas end-of-term fund-raising event. Together we raised a whopping ¬£2405 for Cancer Research. Our annual yuletide event attracted students to our Christmas markets (held in the sports hall) where activities included a bouncy assault course, basketball shootout, and face-painting, and a variety of stalls including chocolate tombola and hot dogs. There was also our talent show in the school hall which entertained the audience with a variety of singing, dancing and gymnastic acts. Here’s a selection of photos from the day.

Students give generously to Christmas appeal

Students give generously to Christmas appeal

Once again, the students at Tottington High School have surpassed our expectations with their generosity. After the launch of our annual Reverse Advent Calendar appeal, students from years 7 to 11 gave generously to this charity appeal in aid of homeless people across Bury.

Delighted form tutors were inundated with donations, which ranged from practical items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower gel and deodorants to tasty treats like biscuits and chocolate.

This marvelous array of much needed items will be distributed next week to the service users at Time4 Change in Bury. The organization, which hosts a breakfast club has seen a 33% raise in the number of people in need of its service over the past 12 months.

Those who access the service are provided with a nutritious meal and a hot drink.

Thanks to our students, encouraging teachers and amazingly supportive parents, the service users will also have some Christmas treats to enjoy as well as essential items to take away. I am so proud of our students and extremely grateful for parental support in this endeavor.

Happy Christmas and all the best for a peaceful new year!
