Lucas Culshaw (10N) arranged a charity football match for Rochdale Spring Hill Hospice in memory of his uncle who sadly passed away last year.  Lucas had been planning the event, held last Sunday (3rd July 2016) event for a whole year, and the day turned out to be even better than he could have ever imagined!

Lucas secured a kit sponsor, match day sponsor, sponsor for man-of-the-match trophy and received donations for a raffle and food – and managed to raise a fantastic £2147 !

Due to Lucas’ amazing commitment and hard work, the whole event, including advertising, cost as little as £80.

Lucas’ family and friends are immensely proud of what he has achieved – organizing the event on such a low budget, yet still managing to raise such a huge amount of money for the Hospice.

The boy’s mother told us: “Lucas has not done the event for recognition, but I’m sure Tottington High School would love to know that one of their pupils has organised the event, as a testimony to what young people are capable of achieving.”

We couldn’t agree more. Well done, Lucas!
