Music & Drama

The Creative Arts Faculty provides a diverse and popular range of extra-curricular activities which include School Productions.  Our large scale musicals are a feature of the school year and the tradition stretches back over some twenty years.

Shows have included, ‘A Christmas Carol’, ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘Bugsy Malone’, ‘Joseph’, ‘Oliver’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Cabaret Nights are also a regular feature of our calendar. All these shows have received enthusiastic acclaim from audiences and the press. This success not only reflects the excellent work of the staff in the faculty but it represents a whole school effort from other staff and parents. Instrumental tuition is available on most instruments including keyboards, guitars, percussion, brass, woodwind and strings. The orchestra, choirs and ensembles involve students of all ages and play an important role not only in school life but also in the local and wider community.

The students play and sing at school functions such as Carol Services, Concerts, Presentation Evenings, etc. Regular concert tours of Europe have been a key feature of the school year.
